    It is the tradition in the tech industry for companies to hype new releases on YouTube. According to one such YouTube video, Amazon is set to release an unidentified device this Wednesday, June 18th.

    According to 2013 reports from the Wall Street Journal, Amazon will be releasing a smartphone that has the capability to display 3D images. The user will not have to wear the special glasses characteristic of 3D displays.

    The report quoted anonymous sources familiar with the product who stated that the smartphone display will use retina-tracking technology. This will give users images that seem to float on the screen, just like a hologram. You will be able to view the images from all angles in three-dimensions.

    In the video, you see people looking in awe at the product that is outside its frame. One person is heard saying, “It moved with me!”

    The release of the teaser led to speculations that the tech giant is set to release a smartphone that will allow it to compete with other tech giants like Google and Apple. These tech giants have been competing in many fronts and it is not surprising that Amazon will want a piece of the lucrative smartphone industry.

    According to May 2014 reports by BGR, the new Amazon smartphone is expected to respond to the movements of the user such that it changes the info displayed when tilted from one side to the next.

    Amazon has not acknowledged the launch, but neither have they denied it.

    With iOS 8, users can create and save automatic email replies that help save time. They can also manage busy inboxes by flagging messages, marking them as unread or read for better organization. Users can also designate certain mails as VIP so that they are sent directly to the VIP box for priority purposes. It is also possible to set the mailbox to mark external addresses in red for security purposes.

    Using the calendar, users can also view meeting availability of their colleagues and friends. The calendar is able to show our friends availability and when setting a meeting, we can therefore put it in a time that is most convenient to everyone.

    iOS 8 also gives us the power to push PDF, iBooks, and ePub documents to user devices using MDM (mobile device management) tools. We can also remove the materials remotely when you no longer need them.

    Finally, with iOS 8 we can wirelessly connect our iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch to Apple TV (peer-to-peer connection), without having to first connect to the organization’s network. This then means that we can share or present our work even when offline.

    With iCloud Drive, you can also open/start working on a document on one app and finish it on another. For instance, if you are creating a picture, you can start it on a sketching app and move it for painting on a paint app and so on.

    The app is able to gather information from various types of fitness devices and health apps. It then uses the gathered info to come up with a clear, current, and comprehensive overview – in one place.

    With your consent, the app is able to get all your health information from other apps, providing you with a comprehensive report that goes a long way in the overall management of your health and fitness.

    The Health app also allows individual apps to collect health info from other apps, of course with your permission. For instance, if you have Nike+ apps, using NikeFuel you will be able to collect other health data such as nutrition and sleep and this builds a custom user profile that can be used to improve performance in athletics.

    Though Samsung is yet to announce the release date of Galaxy Note 4, the features of this device are already surfacing. Lee Younghee, the executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile business,  revealed that one of the numerous “astounding” features of Galaxy Note 4 is a bendable display.

    Song Jong-ho, the Seoul-based KDB Daewoo Securities’ analyst, has reported that bendable Note 4 is expected to be released before the end of the year. According to him, the new Note will be made available at an “affordable price.”

    As Song reported to The Korea Herald, this bent smartphone is the initial step towards testing the market and finding out how it would react with the foldable smartphones expected to be released in the second half of 2015.

    The Korea Times reported that it would be unveiled during the yearly IFA trade fair to be held in Berlin this September. The company’s foldable display technology was showcased during CES 2014.

    The device is incorporated with a Super Amoled display of 5.5 inch and a 2560×1440 resolution giving it a 500+ of ppi. It is powered by Quad Core Snapdragon 805 processor that has 3GB LPDDR3 RAM clocking at 2.5GHz. It is also expected to have an ISOCELL technology rear camera of 16MP.

    Among the other expected features are: a 4K video recording, an S-Pen stylus with an air command and updated gestures, a 2MP front cam incorporated with a 1080p video recording and a dust and water resistant feature.

    Its hardware design is highly advanced with a 20 nm 4 GB DDR3 DRAM housing between 3,600 and 3,800 mAh battery. It may run on either Android 4.5 Lollypop or Android 4.4.3 OS.
