  • Samsung New Galaxy Note Launch Date Revealed

Samsung has finally decided about the date that the new Galaxy Note will be launched and as it seems, it will be in the 29th of August.

After all these rumors and speculations about the release of the brand new Galaxy Note, Samsung announced that they will launch it at the Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin, in the 29th of August. It was confirmed by a spokesman of Samsung to Reuters, although he preferred not to give any other details.

Galaxy Note was a huge success back in 2011, with its 5.3-inch screen and  the Android Ice Cream Sandwich capturing everyone's attention. The fact that it was something between a smartphone and a tablet, created a new need for many of us, the need to have an extra device. And since it was carefully made to compete with the best, it had received great reviews by geek fans. According to Samsung, 7 million Galaxy Notes have already been sold, raising the standards for the new model.

Samsung feels that after the release of the popular Galaxy S III smartphone, another release of a popular smartphone/tablet would be at a perfect timing. They know that they are finally among the powerful at the market and they need to live up to the customers' expectations. Many Samsung fans anticipate for the release of the new Galaxy Note. And the fact that it will be released before Google's Nexus 7 and before the brand new iPhone, means that they need to convince customers as fast as possible.

  • AT&T Galaxy Note and Galaxy S II Skyrocket Get Android 4.0 Update

Good news finally for all the AT&T Galaxy Note and Skyrocket users! According to a report, an ICS update for the AT&T Galaxy Note and Skyrocket is ready and would be distributed starting today July 10th 2012. What it means is that users who were hitherto stuck with the older versions of the Android OS will finally get a taste of the relatively new ICS.

So what does the update have in store for the users of these two smartphones? For the Samsung Galaxy Note users, the update will have apart from the major version change and the tiny bits and pieces changes that come with it is the one major addition of the Premium Suite. This means the S-Memo and the S-Note along with the integrated Wolphram Alpha update. This allows better functionality with the pen which should give users of the Samsung Galaxy Note more reasons to cheer. The remaining bits and pieces updates will also ensure that the phones upgrading from the older Gingerbread will have plenty of goodies to keep their users engaged for a while. For those users who are familiar with the S-Beam, S-Voice and Smart Stay features of the Samsung Galaxy S3, there is however bad news as these changes will not be available in the update.

Some of the users are expected to get an advance access to the update, but the majority will get it sometime on the 10th. For Skyrocket users they can download the I727UCLF6 update patch from Kies and install it.

At this point there is a simple piece of advice, just keep your wireless connections on and wait for that alert to appear and enjoy the new ICS when it gets successfully downloaded and installed on your smartphone.

  • Samsung Launches Galaxy Note

Samsung has finally announced the availability of Samsung Galaxy Note on the European market. The company's new smartphone will be available in November through the major European mobile operators, like Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Telefonica and Vodafone.

Galaxy Note has the first and the largest HD Super AMOLED screen, measuring 5.3 inches. According to the company, this is an intelligent expansive, high-resolution screen, offering immersive viewing experience, "the most performing in its class." The S Pen, along with the full touchscreen of the device, is creating a truly unique user experience. Users can enjoy multi-tasking, can create and view more, with fewer interruptions, even in motion.

The digital S Pen can be used for precise drawings or fine art, while the superior handwriting recognition allows the user to capture and share any idea on other devices without the need for subsequent digitization; handwritten text is converted with accuracy in digital characters.

    Specially designed applications

Along with Galaxy Note, Samsung announced the launch of "S Choice", a new menu category in the Samsung Apps, with applications designed specifically for the Galaxy Note's S Pen function. The new applications include Soonr Workplace, OmniSketch, Zen Brush, ComicBook! and iAnnotate PDF. Soonr Workplace enables team collaboration through the annotation option directly in the various file formats stored in Soonr Cloud, while iAnnotate PDF offers direct annotation for S Pen in PDF files. OmniSketch allows drawing using S Pen as a brush, while Zen Brush simulates an oriental brush.

    Unique visual experience

The high-resolution screen of Samsung Galaxy Note allows users an improved visualization of e-books, PowerPoint presentations, news applications and web pages, with scrolling and minimal zooming. The HD Super AMOLED screen of the Galaxy Note is large enough to allow split-screen and multi-tasking operations. The most commonly used native applications can run side by side, thus reducing interruptions. In addition, 5.3-inch screen is the largest ever included in a mobile device; having a thickness of only 9.6 mm, the new Samsung Galaxy Note perfectly fits in your pocket.

    Power and performance

Galaxy Note’s 1.4 GHz dual core processor ensures a higher speed. Fast network speeds are possible thanks to the HSPA+ or LTE-enabled connections featured by the new smartphone. This means that users can play videos by real-time streaming or play with friends through online gaming platforms (facilitated by Samsung Game Hub).
