    Vtion is one of the three leading providers of wireless data card solutions for mobile computing over wide area networks in China.

    Their data cards are designed to enable users to access telecommunications networks using mobile computers or personal computers. It offers a broad range of wireless data cards, with PCMCIA, USB, Mini-USB, Express Card 34 and PCI Express Mini interfaces.

    At the Mobile World Congress we spoke to Romeo Xue Zhong, Regional Sales Director at the company, who believes Vtion is one of only a few suppliers of wireless data cards in China that has the capability to produce wireless data cards for all 3G industry standards.

  • MWC 2010: Interview with Scott Papenfuss of Aplix

    At the Mobile World Congress we talked to Scott Papenfuss, Director of Business Development at Aplix, a Tokyo-based company that deploys Java technology in mobile phones and other consumer electronics devices.

    One of the products they were presenting at the show was MIDP 3.0 platform. MIDP 3.0 provides a complete and customizable application platform that spans operating systems and device tiers. It enables always–on access to all device screens and all device functions, and enables concurrently running applications. It also helps to solve the Java fragmentation problem by running applications consistently.

  • MWC 2010: Interview with Blayne Jackson of rapIDscan

    The rapIDscan solution for mobile operators allows anyone with a suitably configured handset to collect subscriber’s ID data through an automated process combining Text and Facial Recognition and using the handsets advanced camera function.

    The user is guided through a step by step process to collect and validate ID information with an applet installed to the handset with transfer via GPRS to a central server which is interconnected to the operator’s IN or CRM.

    O3SIS which was recently acquired by Gemalto, is a provider of solutions that brings together data from social networks, pc’s and handsets. All sources used over the internet are being put together in one central place and they communicate with each other.

    The concept is all about connectivity and making sure your communication data is always available whenever and wherever you may need it.

  • MWC 2010: Interview with David Neumann of PCTel

    PCTelworks with antennas and high speed scanner receivers for wireless operators. The scanners help plan, deploy and optimize networks, especially handy for LTE which currently does not have too many devices to test the system on.

    They evaluate the infrastructure providers which they would like to work with and can simultaneously work on multiple bands and frequencies.
