At the Mobile World Congress we talked to Scott Papenfuss, Director of Business Development at Aplix, a Tokyo-based company that deploys Java technology in mobile phones and other consumer electronics devices.

One of the products they were presenting at the show was MIDP 3.0 platform. MIDP 3.0 provides a complete and customizable application platform that spans operating systems and device tiers. It enables always–on access to all device screens and all device functions, and enables concurrently running applications. It also helps to solve the Java fragmentation problem by running applications consistently.
