  • MWC 2010: Interview with Manuel Gonzalez of Keynote

    Keynote, a provider of on-demand test and measurement products for mobile communications and the internet was present at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. 

    Their test and measurement products and services are driven by our global network comprised of over 3,000 measurement computers and mobile devices in over 240 locations in 160 metropolitan areas around the world.

    Keynote SIGOS is a Keynote subsidiary exclusively focused on mobile carriers and operators worldwide. They specialise in testing telecommunication networks, services and components.

  • MWC 2010: Interview with Henric Ehrenblad, Co-Founder & COO of Widespace

    Widespace is an independent mobile ad network that focuses on what happens after the click. Their unique ad algorithm enables smart ad serving by automatically moving the ads to where not only the ad is likely to be clicked on, but also where it most likely will generate an actual sale.

    They work with several of the leading publishers and mobile operators throughout Scandanavia and Northern Europe. The platform works on more than 10,000 handsets including Android and iPhone.

    At the Mobile World Congress they announced Widespace AppMax that is claimed to be the world’s first full mobile ad server with tracking beyond the click. It not only tracks impressions and clicks, but also continues to track down to a purchase of a mobile application or service.

  • MWC 2010: Interview with Kristina Lindholm of myFC

    At the Mobile World Congress we spoke to Kristina Lindholm, Marketing Manager at myFC, a cleantech company working with fuel cells and chargers. Their high performance hydrogen fuel cell chargers and fuel cell components efficiently extend battery life of portable electronics from cell phones to laptops.

    Their planar technology has word record amongst fuel cells in power density with over 600mW/cm3, which means that portable electronics could be used significantly longer without needing to be charged.

    myFC has launched its first commercial products at the Congress.

  • MWC 2010: Interview with Miguel Arias, CEO of Alcosystems

    Alcosystems provides a world-class mobile device connected alcometer that enables peoples to keep a balance between an active live and alcohol consumption. This is enabled with the iBAC solution, a unique high quality solution measuring a person’s blood alcohol content level.

    Their solution is excellent to bundle with other mobile products such as mobile-handsets, operator service packages, suitable for companies within e.g. transportation and hazardous environments.

    At the Mobile World Congress they were presenting a ready to market version of iBAC. The solution is already available on the market and Alcosystems currently has two customers who are now trying it out.


  • MWC 2010: Interview with Christopher Kingdon of Mobile Arts

    At the Mobile World Congress we met with Christopher Kingdon, VP of Marketing & Product Management at Mobile Arts. This Stockholm-based company has offices in the UK, USA, Russia, Croatia and Pakistan.

    They provide mobile messaging, advertisement and location solutions to mobile operators. The customer base includes the full range of mobile operators, from leading large operators from the MTS, Telenor and TeliaSonera groups to small virtual operators. These operators provide Mobile Arts services to over 100 million end-users across 10 time zones.

    Mobile Arts and GDi GISDATA, other location company, announced their partnership at the Congress. They will mutually resell products from both companies.


  • MWC 2010: Interview with Robert Mijalski of DGT Wireless

    At the Mobile World Congress we spoke with Robert Mijalski, International Sales Executive at DGT Wireless, a Polish company that designs, develops and manufacturers innovative, customer specific devices and solutions in CDMA EVDO 450/800 and GSM/UMTS/HSPA technology dedicated for telecommunication operators.

    Their product portfolio includes terminals: FWT, modems, multifunction routers including unique CDMA/HSPA dual system devices with dedicated software platform for its remote, central management.

    They offer product customization and branding for 3G operators for small and mass production volumes. Branding includes custom casing, packaging, software and hardware changes to accommodate operator’s marketing objectives.

  • MWC 2010: Interview with Mate Prgin, President & CEO of Avvasi

    Avvasi, a startup focused on enabling mobile carriers to measure, improve and monetize mobile video was present at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. We spoke to Mate Prgin, the company’s President & CEO.

    At the Congress they were demonstrating Q-VUE, a solution that enables wireless carriers to measure video based Quality of Experience (QoE).

    It gives operators complete and comprehensive insight into their ability to deliver on QoE expectations for video. The solution identifies mobile video traffic patterns and subscriber QoE without the need for drive testing.

  • MWC 2010: Interview with Garnet Rich, President of Opal Manufacturing

    Opal specializes in the automation of accepting payments for prepaid and postpaid products. Their Kiosks can top-up prepaid handsets in real time, vend PINs for a myriad of prepaid products (long distance, mobile,WiFi) and vend products such as handsets and SIM cards/chips.

    Kiosks are typically on-line and accessible in real-time from any PC/Server. At the Mobile World Congress they featured an EP100 Top Up Kiosk with a SIM card dispenser and a cell phone dispenser and an EP50-12 Pin Printing Kiosk.

    The EP100 kiosk utilizes a touch screen as the customer interface. This interface allows for a myriad of products to be sold and provides an intuitive interface for consumers to interact with. It is ideally suited for real time direct flexible prepaid top up, for selling PIN products.


  • MWC 2010: Interview with Clark Qui of Enet Times

    At the Mobile World Congress we talked to Clark Qui, Sales Manager at Enet Times, a Shenzhen-based mobile phones OEM/ODM service provider that also specializes in the design, R&D, manufacturing and marketing.

    They are more than just a manufacturer – they provide a full suite of value-added services that include ID/MD, solution design and EMS.

    Their strategic collaborative partners include TI, QUALCOMM, Broadcom, NXP and Infineon.

    They ensure that every single unit of Enet’s mobile phone integrates well-selected material and delciate workmanship and thoroughly checked&tested before launching into market.

  • MWC 2010: One-Stop Service from Yuhua

    At the Mobile World Congress we spoke to Jimmy Wu, Account Manager at Yuhua, a company that focuses on developing ODM products in wireless industry.

    They now specialize in Linux OS and Android smartphones. The company distinguishes itself by supplying innovative products and design solution with one-stop service. They are able to offer its customers one stop service from anything between cell phones to multimedia players.

    They have already established strategic relationships with retailers, operators, manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers both at home (Chinese) and in the international market.
