  • MWC 2010: Interview with Dave Engel of Ubidata

    At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona we met with Dave Engel, Senior Consultant at Ubidata. They develop, design and commercialise software, hardware and services which combine into a complete remote fleet and resources management solution.

    Their products are a group of multifunctional elements, based on a modular, open and scalable architecture to telematic’s needs.

    Recently they have launched real-time temperature follow-up for multi-compartments refrigerated trucks, trailer tracking with adapted power management as well as a solution to manage mixed outsourced and internal fleets in an integrated way.


  • MWC 2010: Interview with Filip Tack, CEO of Nomadesk

    Nomadesk is a provider of on-demand file sharing software that enables digital nomads or geographically dispersed professionals to easily share, sync, encrypt, backup and store files from any location, whether online or offline.

    At the Mobile World Congress we spoke with Filip Tack, CEO of the company. Bringing the power of cloud computing to small businesses, they alleviate the hassles and minimize the high costs of traditional document management solutions, as well as online storage pay-per-user models.

    Their TheftGuard provides advanced tracking and allows users to spot a stolen or misplaced device on Google Maps and remotely shred all important documents.


  • MWC 2010: Link ID – Your Online ID for Life

    Link ID is a secure on line authentication and signature service that puts users in full control of their identity and privacy whilst offering application owners, brands and membership bodies the ability to build deeper and more profitable relationships.

    The service has been developed and marketed by LIN.K nv, a Belgian company providing technologies and services for online user registration, identification, strong authentication, digital signature/validation of data/transactions using smart cards, mobile phones, tokens and biometrics.

    They were presenting their secure web and mobile ID services at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. We talked to Dieter Houthooft, CTO of the company.


  • MWC 2010: Interview with Maarten Van Laere, CEO of ServersCheck

    At the Mobile World Congress we spoke to Maarten Van Laere, CEO of ServersCheck. They offer a complete solution to monitor the BTS from a business and technical perspective to safeguard revenue stream and infrastructure.

    The foundation of the patents pending solution is an eco-friendly appliance fitting into any existing BTS that out of the box monitors all IP enabled devices, environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, flooding), end-user mobile service experience (voice, sms, data).

    They were one of the first monitoring solutions on the market enabling users to monitor and manage their systems anywhere at any time through a web browser.


  • MWC 2010: Interview with Dirk Tombeur of Citendo

    Belgian company Citendo provides expertise in international telecom expense management and focuses on improving sourcing services, invoice verification and telecom process outsourcing.

    Their fields of expertise are spread over fixed, mobile and data communication. They assist companies in the management and the procurement of telecom assets.

  • MWC 2010: Interview with Dr. Chris Henny of Marlink

    At the Mobile World Congress we talked to Dr. Chris Henny, Senior Innovation and Project Manager at Marlink. They are a global satellite communications leader, providing maritime customers with a range of voice and data solutions.

    Across its range of products and solutions, Marlink routes communications through its own teleports to ensure quality and reliability. They provide on board GSM solutions to the Cruise and Ferry, Transport, Leisure and Fishing markets.

    Their regional customer service centres are located in strategic regions throughout the world enabling local support.

  • MWC 2010: Interview with Dr. Gurol Akman, CTO of Telenity

    At the Mobile World Congress we met with Dr. Gurol Akman, CTO of Telenity, a provider of converged services and applications for communications networks.

    Their market ready software solutions include: integrated messaging (SMS, MMS, USSD) applications, value added services (personalized call management, mobile collect call, missed call notification, RBT, voice/video mail, location-based people finder); and reusable service delivery components (messaging gateway, 3rd party access gateway and location gateways) enabling rapid service creation and deployment.

    In Barcelona they announced that they have acquired Construia, a young startup specializing in targeted mobile advertising platforms and applications. Following the acquisition, Construia’s products will be integrated into Telenity’s “Canvas” branded Mobile Marketing and Advanced Messaging product lines.

  • MWC 2010: Interview with Manuel Gonzalez of Keynote

    Keynote, a provider of on-demand test and measurement products for mobile communications and the internet was present at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. 

    Their test and measurement products and services are driven by our global network comprised of over 3,000 measurement computers and mobile devices in over 240 locations in 160 metropolitan areas around the world.

    Keynote SIGOS is a Keynote subsidiary exclusively focused on mobile carriers and operators worldwide. They specialise in testing telecommunication networks, services and components.

  • MWC 2010: Interview with Henric Ehrenblad, Co-Founder & COO of Widespace

    Widespace is an independent mobile ad network that focuses on what happens after the click. Their unique ad algorithm enables smart ad serving by automatically moving the ads to where not only the ad is likely to be clicked on, but also where it most likely will generate an actual sale.

    They work with several of the leading publishers and mobile operators throughout Scandanavia and Northern Europe. The platform works on more than 10,000 handsets including Android and iPhone.

    At the Mobile World Congress they announced Widespace AppMax that is claimed to be the world’s first full mobile ad server with tracking beyond the click. It not only tracks impressions and clicks, but also continues to track down to a purchase of a mobile application or service.

  • MWC 2010: Interview with Kristina Lindholm of myFC

    At the Mobile World Congress we spoke to Kristina Lindholm, Marketing Manager at myFC, a cleantech company working with fuel cells and chargers. Their high performance hydrogen fuel cell chargers and fuel cell components efficiently extend battery life of portable electronics from cell phones to laptops.

    Their planar technology has word record amongst fuel cells in power density with over 600mW/cm3, which means that portable electronics could be used significantly longer without needing to be charged.

    myFC has launched its first commercial products at the Congress.
