  • MWC 2010: Connecting Voice Calls with Web Applications

    Ditech Networks, a company that delivers advanced voice processing services that drive service provider revenue and retention, was present at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

    Smartphone.Biz-News.com spoke to Karl Brown, Vice President of Marketing at Ditech, who told us more about the company’s PhoneTag, the automated and human assisted voice to text for voicemail, SMS and conference calls, and mStage media processor, which provides continuous, personal, two-way access to Web services.

    They were also presenting toktok Voice Web applications that leverage mStage capabilities to deliver applications such as spoken call waiting announcement and voice interface to social networks, and VQA, which delivers voice quality improvement to provide increased capacity and higher Minutes of Use.

  • MWC 2010: Interview with Alon Rotem of Electronics Line 3000

    At the Mobile World Congress we talked to Alon Rotem, Technical Support Engineer at Electronics Line 3000, a provider of advanced security and control solutions, with remote management applications, for the residential and SoHo markets.

    Their solutions enable telcos to expand their services and increase brand presence in customers’ lives, by incorporating into their offering services such as security monitoring, hazard detection, remote management of home appliances, video look-in and location based services.

    Users stay in control by receiving SMS and email alerts and sending SMS system commands as well as utilizing interactive remote management features through dedicated Web and WAP interfaces where providers can communicate marketing messages directly to customers.

  • Pomeranian Science and Technology Park at MWC 2010

    The Pomeranian Science and Technology Park based in Gdynia a Polish city in the north of the country, was present at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Their aim was to promote the innovation in their city and region, and present to the market two products that have been developed by two of the 80 companies that the Park holds.

    Marek Langowski, TME & TMV Managing Director for TeleMobile gave us a demonstration of how their product, an automatic tuning tool for filters on base stations, works.

  • MWC 2010: Interview with Albert Riera of BioAccez

    BioAccez was present at the Mobile World Congress with their 3G surveillance cameras; they have developed a very simple hardware that revolutionizes the use we have given surveillance cameras to date.

    The cameras have a SIM card inserted; the user can call the camera with their mobile and see in real time what the camera is focusing on. An excellent hardware to use at companies or at home, also of great use to install for medical purposes as doctors can call to check on their home patients in real time.

    A new model has come out which is adapted to US frequency, 2010 will be a year of expansion all over the world for this company.

    At the Mobile World Congress we spoke with Chris Labonne, Field Applications Engineer at Dialogic.

    They are pioneers in enabling interactive mobile video and provide video-enabled engines that support direct IP streaming as well as connectivity to existing and new mobile devices.

    In Barcelona they were presenting a wide variety of applications enabled by Dialogic technology, including Click-to-Video-Call, IVVR, Video Advertising, Gaming, Messaging, and VCCV, Video Conferencing, Video LBS, Video Portal, and VRT, Video SDP VAS with HD Voice.

    In addition, they were also showcasing the latest software for QoE video analytics developed by Dialogic Media Labs.
